I have a couple of savings bonds issued to me but in my name from a prior marriage. Can I still cash them in? What paperwork and/or ID will I need?

Of course you can cash them in.

If the bank won’t, you forward the bonds to either Treasury Direct (if you open an account with them) or the nearest reserve bank that handles savings bonds.

For ID, you need propf that this was your maiden name. Ie, marriage certificate.
