i remember my teacher saying something about lets say you buy one for 50 dollars and after x amount of time, its worth 100.

what type of bond is this exactly? are there letters after it like EE.. where do i buy them?

thanks so much

It is a long term investment you buy savings bonds and they mature after several to many years and are worth more at which point you can sell them.

The bond and they pay interest at rate that makes cds look attractive several years later the bond is actually worth the face value of the face value of the bond and they pay interest at rate.
