I’m trying to learn more about savings bonds and I’ve been reading up on them. But, I just want to know… The income you receive for the interest, do you have to wait to use that income when you cash in the bond? Like is it “locked-up” until you cash it in? Or are you able to use the money as it comes in???

The bond to mature before you can cash it without paying penalty you will have to wait for the bond to mature before you can cash it without paying.
